Kathmandu, Oct. 31: Major highways in various parts of the country have been blocked due to landslides triggered by the incessant rains since Thursday morning.
According to the Police Headquarters, landslides along the Koshi Highway have affected the Sankhuwasabha section, the Tamor Corridor in Panchthar, and the Siddhicharan Highway in the Okhaldhunga section.
Similarly, the BP Highway in Namobuddha, Kavrepalanchok, the Pasang Lhamu Highway, and the bridge connecting Nepal and China in Rasuwa, as well as the Mid-Hill Highway in Sindhuli, have been blocked.
Likewise, vehicular movement along the Miteri Bridge on the Nepal-China border in Rasuwa has come to a halt.
Police spokesperson Binod Ghimire said that landslides have partially obstructed Jomsom-Korola section and the Beni-Darwang road in Myagdi, as well as one way traffice have been in opeartion in Gorusinghe-Sandhikharka road section in Arghakhanchi have been operating in one direction.
