Kathmandu, Oct 30: Prime Minister Sushil Karki has said that her attention has been drawn to reports disseminated by various media claiming that Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has been exerting pressure on the Prime Minister to remove Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal from his position.
In a press statement issued today by the Chief Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Adarsha Kumar Shrestha, it is stated that the appointment and removal of members of the Council of Ministers fall solely under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister, and no such decisions are made under anyone’s pressure or influence.
“This government was formed in accordance with the mandate of the Gen Z Movement, and it is widely known that Home Minister Aryal, who assumed office amid an unusual political atmosphere, has been working diligently to create an environment conducive to the upcoming election (scheduled for March 5, 2026), to maintain peace and order, and to boost the morale of the security agencies,” the statement reads.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has urged everyone not to spread or believe such rumors and propaganda. (RSS)
