Sixteen reps from political parties, 14 from Gen-Z to participate in tripartite consultations

Kathmandu, Oct 29: Sixteen representatives from political parties and 14 from the Gen-Z group are expected to participate in the tripartite talks convened by Prime Minister Sushila Karki for 4pm today.

Office-bearers and second-tier leaders of major political parties represented in the dissolved House of Representatives are expected to attend the discussions at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar.

Prime Minister's press coordinator Ram Bahadur Rawal said that the discussions, being held for the first time in the context of creating an atmosphere conducive for the election, will be attended by Prime Minister Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, and Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Ajaya Bhadra Khanal on behalf of the government.

Likewise, it is stated that 14 participants will represent the Gen-Z group, including the 'Indigenous Gen-Z Collective', 'How to Nation Development' and 'Gen-Z Movement Alliance', in the consultations.

From the political parties, Gagan Thapa, General Secretary and Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, along with Mahesh Bartaula, a central member including an official from CPN (UML), and from CPN (Maoist Centre), Barsha Man Pun and Madhav Sapkota will take part in the discussions. 

Similarly, Swarnim Wagle, Vice President and central member Nisha Dangi from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and General Secretary Rajendra Gurung and spokesperson Mohan Shrestha from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party will participate in the discussions.

The Prime Minister's Secretariat has said that the agenda includes discussions on creating an overall environment for the elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, forging political understanding, and other related matters.

The government has been holding series of talks and discussions with the concerned parties regarding the successful conduction of the House of Representatives election on the announced date.

Earlier, discussions were held on October 21 between the government and political parties at the invitation of Prime Minister Karki. Similarly, discussions have taken place between Prime Minister Karki and the Gen-Z group in the presence of President Ramchandra Paudel in that connection. (RSS)
