Energy Minister Ghising meets his Indian counterpart Khattar

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 29: A courtesy meeting has been held between the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, and  Minister for Power and Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs of the Government of India, Manohar Lal Khattar .

Minister Ghising met with his Indian counterpart Khattar on Wednesday. Ghising is currently in New Delhi to participate in the 8th Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

Energy cooperation between Nepal and India, electricity trade, expansion of transmission lines, progress of hydropower projects under construction with Indian investment, and long-term partnership in the energy sector between the two countries were discussed in the meeting held at the Indian Power Ministry, according to Minister Ghising's secretariat . 

The meeting was attended by Nepal's Ambassador to India Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma, India's Power Secretary Pankaj Agrawal,  Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Sagar Raj Gautam and others.
