US entrepreneurs of Nepali origin ready to invest in motherland if environment gets favourable
Texas, (United States), Oct 26: Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) entrepreneurs in the USA have expressed willingness to invest and transform Nepal's economy if investment environment gets conducive.
Speaking at “Business and Investment Conclave 2025” organised by Himalaya Khabar Online at Dallas, US, the American entrepreneurs of Nepali origin urged the government to create conducive environment to enhance investment.
One of the prominent entrepreneur, secretary of Non-Residential Nepal association Gauri Raj Joshi, said that the government should be sensitive to create favorable environment for investment.
“Nepali diaspora have been urging to create an attractive environment including the security of return on investment”, Joshi said in the conclave. He expressed optimism that current upheavals in Nepal will be managed soon and hope will prevail for the business and trade.
Another entrepreneur Basudev Bhandari said that there is a need for the private sector of Nepal to come forward to facilitate to create conducive environment for diaspora community.
As the key note speaker, president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that although a negative perception about Nepal is getting pervasive, the investment potential of Nepal is undeniable.
He promised the diaspora investors that he is ready to facilitate to ease business operation in Nepal.
The FNCCI president also clarified that the business entrepreneurs have asked for punitive action against those who were indulged in physical damage of the business and trade. He urged for investment in tourism and energy sectors.
As the special guest in the programme, General Manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation Lal Bahadur Airi pointed at the need of positive initiative from media sector to create favorable business environment.
GM Airi dismissed the narrative that nothing can be done and there is nothing in Nepal as very bad discourse and urged the American enterpreneurs of Nepali origin to investment in Nepal with a positive attitude.
The Consul and Spokesperson of the Consulate General of Nepal, Dallas, USA, Prabin Bhattari, assured that the government is committed to create conducive business environment.
Chairperson of the conclave and managing editor of Himalaya Khabar Bikash Raj Neupane pointed at the need of identifying and facilitating the challenges related to creating favorable environment to investment in Nepal. He sated that they were making continuous efforts to create investment-friendly environment in Nepal for the Nepalis residing in foreign countries.
