Two dead in Dhankuta road mishap

By Kaviraj Ghimire/Santosh Subedi, Hile, Oct.15: Two died when a bus met with an accident in Dhankuta.

The Sairam bus (Province 1-02-001 Kha 9606), which was heading from Biratnagar to Jitpur via Dhankuta, met with an accident at Nigale in Dhankuta Municipality-3 on Wednesday.

District Police Office, Dhankuta, Rajan Karki said that Ganga Karki of Mahalaxmi Municipality-7 and Dilli Baral of Mahalaxmi Municipality-9 died in the accident.

Meanwhile, six passengers sustained injuries in the accident. 

According to police, the injured are undergoing treatment at the Dhankuta District Hospital in the district headquarters.

The deceased have been identified as Durgamayya Timilsina Bhattarai, aged 45, of Dhankuta Municipality-4, Devi Neupane, aged 60, of Kerabari Rural Municipality-9, Morang, Taradevi Kafle, aged 75, of Mahalaxmi-9 in Dhankuta, Khushi Lungeli, aged 17, of Mahalaxmi-8, Ankita Khadka, aged 8, of Gachhiya-7 in Morang, and Srijana Jimmi, also of Mahalaxmi-7.

All the injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. One of the six injured is in serious condition.
