NHRC calls for precaution against potential risk from ongoing rains

Kathmandu, Oct 4: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged everyone to stay alert to the potential risks of floods and disasters from the ongoing incessant rains.

In a press statement issued today, the NHRC emphasized that it is the state’s responsibility to prioritize disaster preparedness, keep the public informed about the situation, and carry out the rescue of vulnerable people. The commission also highlighted the importance of focusing on effective disaster preparedness and response.

Additionally, the NHRC called on political parties, the private sector, civil society, media, youth, and various organizations to lend support in disaster preparedness and rescue efforts.(RSS)
