Kathmandu, Oct 4: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has called for the suspension of long-distance vehicle operations to and from the Kathmandu Valley amid ongoing heavy rainfall. It wants the bodies concerned to suspend the services for three days or from October 4 to 6.
In a public notice issued today, the Authority cited heightened risks of landslides, flooding, and inundations due to continuous rains, and urged all relevant agencies and transport operators to halt services temporarily.
It has also requested the respective District Administration Offices and security agencies to ensure strict monitoring and enforcement of the suspension. (RSS)
