Minor dies, two injured after being struck by lightning

Gulmi, Sept 25: A minor has died after being struck by lightning in Madane Rural Municipality of Gulmi. In the incident that took place at around 2:00 am this morning, Riyasa Bik, the four-year-old daughter of Nersingh BK of Jhyanpani, Madane-5, died on the spot after being struck by lightning, shared Ganga Bahadur Saru, Information Officer at the District Police Office.

According to him, BK's father Nersingh and mother Suntali were injured in the same incident. The incident took place as they were in their sleep at their home, according to the police.

The injured couple has been taken to the District Hospital Pyuthan for further treatment after first-aid at the local health facility. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.(RSS)
