Morang, Sept 24: Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has said that there is no possibility of abolishing the provincial structure.
Briefly speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport, Finance Minister Khanal, who is also looking after the portfolio of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, clarified that the current government is functioning according to the constitution and there is no intention of abolishing the provinces.
In response to a question, Minister Khanal maintained that there has been no discussion about banning the one thousand rupee and five hundred rupee denomination notes in the present situation.
He said a study is underway regarding the reduction of the integrated tax 'Goods Sales Tax' imposed by the Government of India, and improvements will be made if there are conditions of this move causing damage to industries and industrial establishments.(RSS)
