Kathmandu, Sept 20: Efforts are underway to clear the overnight blockage of the Tuin Khola bridge on the Muglin-Narayangarh road section due to continuous landslides in the area. The road section has been shut since around 6:30 pm on Friday.

Stones are continuously falling from about 70 meters above the road while a large landslide occurred again at 7:40 am this morning.

Currently, three loaders and an excavator have been mobilised at the site to remove the landslide debris from both sides of the road. If there is no further landslide, the road is likely to be operational later this evening.

Meanwhile, the government has taken the initiative to clear blocked roads in various parts of the country.

After passengers were left stranded on major roads across the country, including the Narayangadh-Muglin road, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising called a meeting with the heads of the concerned agencies.

It was agreed at the meeting that the issue of traffic management and clearing blocked roads for Dashain and Tihar would be addressed through a task force. (RSS)
