82 prisoners at large arrested

By Dev Ram Yadav, Saptari, Sept.19: As many as 82 prisoners who escaped from the Saptari Prison Office have been arrested.

205 out of 397 prisoners escaped by breaking the main gate of the prison on Wednesday, September 10.

The police have taken 82 people into custody from various places in the district. Meanwhile, 90 people have been arrested so far, including six prisoners who escaped from Jhumka Prison, Sunsari, and two prisoners who escaped from Nakkhu Prison.

Superintendent of Police Gautam Kumar KC, 123 prisoners from Rajbiraj Prison are still absconding and a search is underway for them as of now. 

According to him, the search operation has been made more industrious at various checkpoints connected to the Indian state of Bihar. 

Considering the security situation in the prison, curfew has been continued around the office.
