By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 18: The US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R Thompson, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki this afternoon.
During the
meeting, US Ambassador Thompson reaffirmed the United States’ support for
Nepal’s peaceful and democratic path forward.
"Today,
I met Nepal’s Interim Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Sushila Karki. As I offered my
condolences for the lives lost in the recent protests, I also reaffirmed the
United States’ support for Nepal’s peaceful and democratic path forward,"
shared Ambassador Thompson on social media X.
Building on more than 78 years of U.S.-Nepal partnership, we discussed ways to advance trade, foster economic growth, strengthen disaster preparedness, and carry forward the MCC Nepal Compact to further the interests and prosperity of both our countries, he stated.
