Mahakali Highway reopens; Sillegada-Purchaudi road obstructed

Baitadi, Sept 18: The Mahaklai Highway that was disrupted due to landslide at Salsena in Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-5 last night has reopened. 

Police Inspector at the Baitadi Police, Baldev Badu informed the resumption of the highway operation. However, the risk is still persisting in the landslide-hit area, it is said. 

Earlier, on last Tuesday too, traffic disruption had occurred in the same area due to landslide. 

Likewise, the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has blocked the Sillegada-Kalagauin-Purchaudi road for the past three days. 

The landslide occurred in Dandajer of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-2, Principal of Rauleshwar Secondary School in Kafalkot, Narendra Bhat informed. 

Since last Tuesday, landslides have occurred due to torrential rain. With the road blockage, vehicular movement has been completely halted with, and there is also a risk for pedestrians. 

Locals have urged the concerned authorities to clear the landslide debris. (RSS)
