Covered hall handover to Prithvi Narayan Secondary School

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 5: The construction of an equipped with modern facilities-covered hall has been completed at Prithvi Narayan Secondary School in Tarakeswar.

The Um Hong Gil Human Foundation of Korea has completed and handed over the multi-purpose indoor sports covered hall to the community school located in Tarakeswar-5, Kathmandu. The hall, which began construction in 2022, was handed over to the school on Bhadra 17.

The hall, which can accommodate up to eight hundred people, has courts that can be used to play basketball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. Saying that the construction of the hall will not only help in improving education but also help in community activities, Deputy Mayor of Tarkeswar Municipality Srijana Burlakoti Aryal thanked the foundation.

The program was organized in the presence of students, teachers, and parents and was handed over to the school management committee chairman, Shambhu Prasad Phuyal, by the Korean Ambassador to Nepal, Park Tae Yong, Foundation Chairman Lee Jae Hoo, Executive Director Captain Um Hong Gil, and others.

The founders of Humanscape Korea, the donor of the project, also participated in the program. The foundation has distributed sports equipment, football uniforms, and bags to 1,350 students of this school. The support provided to the children for academic and sports is commendable, said Shambhu Prasad Phuyal, Chairman of the School Management Committee.

Executive Director Captain Um Hong Gil informed that the foundation has selected community schools across the Kathmandu Valley and provided them with infrastructure and educational equipment.

He said that he has been encouraging students to fulfil their dreams through hard work and dedication, and has been supporting them for educational improvement.

Choi Hyunsub, co-founder of Humanscape Korea, said that he believes that the sports covered hall will not only be for sports but also become a place for students to learn sports education.

Student Niranjan Jamkatel said that the support provided by this foundation will help hundreds of students improve their academic performance and exercise along with sports, as it will also help improve their brains. He also demanded that this work be continued.

Established in Korea in 2008, the foundation has provided physical infrastructure and educational and sports equipment to 19 schools across Nepal for 16 years. The foundation has announced that it is moving forward with the launch of its 20th project in Surkhet, Karnali Province.
