Kathmandu, May 17: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa said he wishes to bring onboard the party leaders who were left behind after the party's special general convention.
At a programme organized today by Democratic Thought Society, President Thapa said the leaders will be appointed to the party's central committee and other committees. Saying a huge layer of leaders elected from the party's 14th general convention is out of the party's leading role, President Thapa viewed that he would like to work with them by giving them respectable post.
Likewise, Thapa said that the date for the party's 15th general convention was already announced and the election committee was formed under the leadership of Prem Bahadur Khadka and added that other leaders would also be incorporated in the election committee.
Furthermore, the NC President said that he was ready to appoint more members in the party membership probe committee formed under the leadership of party general secretary Pradip Paudel.
On the occasion, Thapa said that he was clear about the role and opportunities to be given to the party leaders in different capacity and urged the party's active members from all over the country to update their party membership.
During the event, general secretary Paudel, party leader Arjunnar Singh KC, Society's Chairman Kul Chandra Wagle and others shared their views on the roles to be played by the NC in the changing political context of the country. (RSS)
