Dalit Commission's annual report presented to Koshi Province Chief Khapung

Morang, May 17: The fifth annual report of the National Dalit Commission was presented to Chief of Koshi Province, Parshuram Khapung, today.     

Commission chair Devraj Bishwakarma presented the report for the fiscal year, 2081/82 BS to the Province Chief in accordance with Article 294 (3) of Constitution's which states that constitutional body may prepare a separate report in relation to the functioning of each Province and submit it to the Province Chief.     

On the occasion, Khapung underlined the need for ending all sorts of discriminations against the Dalit community. Commission member Sundar Purkoti stressed that the three-tier government should ensure the stricter implementation of existing laws against caste-based discriminations and untouchability.(RSS)
