By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahu, May 18: The construction work of the motorable bridge over the Seti-Madi has taken pace lately.
The bridge connects Deurali Nagar of Vyas
Municipality-3 and Jhaputar of Rishing Rural Municipality-1 of Tanahu district.
The locals are now elated with the pace in the construction
of the bridge that started in 2020.
Rajendra Krishna Shrestha, chairperson of Rishing
Rural Municipality, said the locals have been expressing concerns over the
delay and pressing for timely construction.
Sushma Pande, information officer of the infrastructure
development office of Tanahu, informed that physical progress of the project
has been 70% and that the construction company was directed to complete the works
as it was getting delayed
All the steel parts needed for the truss of the bridge
have been brought to the construction site now and that the works related to
pillars and foundation have long been completed. The 155-meter long steel truss
motorable bridge is a pride project of the Gandaki provincial government and a
lifeline of southern Tanahu.
The cost of the bridge is Rs. 324 million.
