Husband sent to jail for trial, three others released

 By Bhawani Datta Bhatta, Kanchanpur, Aug.30:The husband, who was arrested for investigation into the death of 17-year-old Samjhana Bhatta from Beldandi, Kanchanpur, has been sent to prison for trial.

District Court, Kanchanpur,  has ordered Samjhana's husband, Pawan Bhatta, to be sent to prison for remand, while the mother-in-law and sister have been released on bail.

Pawan Bhatta, the husband of the deceased, was sent to jail for a pre-trial hearing after a closed-door hearing in the court on Thursday in a case related to abetment to suicide filed by Samjhana's family at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Kanchanpur District Court Information Officer Rajendra Bahadur said that the deceased's father-in-law, Haridatta Bhatta, and sister, Pooja Bhatta, have been ordered to be released on bail in the case of abetment to suicide, while the mother-in-law, Kiran Bhatta, has been ordered to be released on a regular date.

According to him, on Thursday, a single bench of Judge Rajendra Bhandari ordered to release of father-in-law Hari and sister Pooja on bail of Rs 100,000 each.

Three people have been released in accordance with the order, while the deceased's husband has been sent to prison pending trial. 

Samjhana was found hanging at her home on the morning of August 3.
