Two roads, including the Kaligandaki Corridor, blocked in Gulmi

By Ramesh Bishwakarma, Gulmi, Aug.29: Two roads along with the Kaligandaki Corridor have been blocked in Gulmi district. 

The Kaligandaki Corridor has been blocked for traffic due to landslides. The road was completely blocked after a landslide occurred in Rakse, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-2, Gulmi this morning.

According to the District Police Office, Gulm, the Gulmi section of the Kaligandaki Corridor has been completely blocked due to landslides since around 6:25 AM on Friday morning. Similarly, the Ridi-Wami road has been blocked due to rain.

The road has been blocked since 5:50 AM this morning due to the increasing water flow in the Dahare River on the Ridi-Wami road section under Satyawati Rural Municipality-6 in this district.

With rain continuing to fall in the area, landslides from above the road has not stopped. 

Hence, security personnel with necessary equipment has been deployed to resume the road, said Information Officer of the District Police Office, Ganga Bahadur Saru. The rain has not stopped since Wednesday afternoon.
