Dr Deuba urges Qatar's Special Envoy for Bipin Joshi's Release

Kathmandu, Aug.19: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has urged the Qatari Foreign Minister's Special Envoy on Climate Change and Sustainability, Bader Omar Ismail Al Dafa, to take further initiatives to find out the state of Bipin Joshi and his return home.

She said so during a courtesy meeting that was held between Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba and  Bader Omar Ismail Al Dafa, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability of the State of Qatar, who was visiting Nepal for Sagarmatha Sambaad.

Taking to social media, Foreign Minister Rana thanked Qatar for its efforts to secure the release of Bipin Joshi. 

She urged Qatar to continue its efforts in this regard.

She stressed that Nepal attaches high importance and is keen to expand diplomatic relations with Qatar and hopes to conduct productive deliberations with Dafa during Sagarmatha Sambaad, held in the capital in May 2025.

Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national, has been held hostage by Hamas since October 2023.
