Talks to expand digital collaboration

Geneva, (Switzerland), July 11: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung and Minister of State for Digital Development and Health of Singapore, Rahayu Mahzam, have held a bilateral meeting.

The bilateral meeting occurred while Minister Gurung attended a high-level event at the World Summit on the Information Society held in Geneva, Switzerland.

During the meeting, special discussions were held on deepening cooperation between Nepal and Singapore in e-governance, cybersecurity, digital innovation, fintech, and green digital infrastructure.

Minister Gurung, who is also the former Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, is currently leading Nepal's digital transformation campaign under the Digital Nepal Framework and IT Vision 2050.

Singapore State Minister Mahzam has made significant contributions in the areas of digital inclusion, online safety, youth empowerment and women's empowerment.

Both sides also discussed strategic cooperation in smart public service delivery, skills development, fintech innovation, and sustainable cloud infrastructure development.

Minister Gurung's Secretariat has informed that Minister Gurung has also extended a formal invitation to the Prime Minister of Singapore for a high-level visit to Nepal on behalf of the Government of Nepal and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
