Kathmandu, July 3: The Women and Social Affairs Committee under the House of Representatives has decided to review implementation status of the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act, 2064 BS (2008).
A meeting of the Committee agreed to review the implementation as it seeks to ensure access of survivors to justice with the prevention of potential cases of human trafficking and transportation within the vulnerable community.
Committee President Kiran Kumar Shah said, "Today's meeting of the Committee has agreed to review the implementation of the Act aiming to protect dignity, freedom and fundamental rights of survivors of human trafficking, and organised crime that has its global nexus and to bring the responsible for the crime under the purview of law.
