Kathmandu, July 2: CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has directed party leaders and cadres not to debate over next leadership because the date for the national general convention of the party was not fixed yet.
Addressing a meeting of Bagmati Province In-Charge, Province Chairperson and District Chairperson virtually at UML Headquarters, Chysal of Lalitpur, on Wednesday, he reminded the party line that it was time to discuss rules and statute rather than leadership.
'The debate on leadership should be ceased immediately as the date of national general convention has not been scheduled", leader Pokhrel reiterated. He requested all leaders and cadres to focus their attention in making party's policy and rules at a time when date for party's statute general convention was already fixed.
The political and organizational reports would be directly presented at statute convention from central committee, which the central committee would send to the subordinate committees for discussion, he informed.
District Chairperson of Bagmati Province made reporting on membership renewal, new membership and other activities of the party in the meeting.
On the occasion, Chief of CPN (UML) Organisation Department, Kashi Nath Adhikari, Bagmati Province In-charge Dr Rajan Bhattarai and Chairperson Kailash Dhungel, among others were present.(RSS)
