Kathmandu, July 2: The main opposition, CPN (Maoist Center) has demanded action against those who altered the provisions related to the 'cooling-off' period in the Federal Civil Service Bill passed by the State Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.
At a press conference organized at the party headquarters, Parisdanda today, Vice President and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota demanded an impartial investigation into the matter. "Considering the turns of event until the passage of the bill, this was not done by a few individuals. It may have been done in a pre-planned manner. The leadership of the parliament should also take moral responsibility for this," Sapkota said.
In addition, he said that it was regrettable that the school education bill had not been passed by the parliament even though there was an agreement with the Nepal Teachers' Federation to pass the bill by June 29.
Spokesperson Sapkota urged the government to pass the Education Bill as soon as possible and not force teachers to take to the streets.
The party has also urged the government to assess the likely damage from the disaster and work to minimize it and prepare for post-disaster relief and rescue. The government's attention was also drawn towards solving the overall problems of the agricultural sector, including addressing the immediate needs of necessary fertilizers and seeds for the farmers.(RSS)
