By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 19: The government of Nepal has urged Nepali citizens to avoid traveling to Israel and Iran at this time.

In light of the developments created by the conflict between Israel and Iran, the government has appealed to avoid traveling to the two countries except in urgent cases until further notice.

Issuing a travel advisory on behalf of the government on Wednesday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has urged to take maximum precautions from a security perspective, Nepali citizens currently in Israel and Iran or planning to visit or travel to Israel or other Middle Eastern countries from Nepal are requested not to travel except in necessity.

Pointing out that several countries around the world have requested their citizens to leave Israel and Iran, the ministry urged some citizens there to stay safe, stay in touch with their communities, and to adhere to the security alert notices, information and instructions issued by the concerned countries and not to leave the house except at the specified time and place.

With the closure of air routes between Israel and Iran, Nepali citizens wishing to return to Nepal voluntarily may need to obtain a 'transit visa' for a third country. The ministry's release noted necessary measures will be taken to facilitate this process.

The ministry has requested Nepali citizens residing in Israel and Iran to adopt safety precautions and stay indoors except for essential movement.

They are also requested to continuously follow and adopt the safety advisories of the Israeli authorities.

The ministry has urged the Nepali community to remain in regular touch with the Nepali embassy and regularly check the information issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy.

In case of an emergency, it is advised to register their details through the 'online link' available on the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consular Service Department, and the Nepali Embassy.
