Chitwan, June 11: The Bharatpur Metropolitan City (BMC) has announced public holiday for schools in the metropolis in view of the excessive heat. The holiday is effective from today until Friday, as announced by the metropolis.
According to Subash Chandra Acharya, head of the educational administration division of the metropolis, the decision for public holidays in schools has been made from June 11 to June 13, Friday.
During the holiday period, parents are requested to not let their children go outside during the daytime, to prevent them from swimming in rivers and ponds, and to keep them from engaging in fishing activities.
In recent days, the temperature in Chitwan has reached between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius.
There has been a noticeable increase in heat in the last two days.(RSS)
