Patan (Lalitpur), June 10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said journalism should show path to the society with positive and analytical consciousness.
In his address to a ceremony held today in Lalitpur on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of ratopati.com, an online news portal, Prime Minister Oli stated that analytical awareness helps distinguish good and bad, urging journalism sector to embrace the truth.
"One should not be critical on falsehoods; being impartial is sufficient. Mere critical awareness see bad even in good, it criticizes one to showcase another as good. Ratopati has protected itself from undesired accusations. Even if people don’t like truth, it must be written for one's own sake. There should not be a tendency to shape the truth for oneself," Prime Minister Oli said.
He lauded the Ratopati for its strides keeping good rapport when the society, globe and relationships are changing in a rapid pace.
Extending best wishes to the online media for its struggle and success, PM Oli thanked for its activism in changing context of digital world. "There is a need for the communication sector to provide recommendation to every sector", the PM noted.
Also on the occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli honoured Devi Khadka for her unflagging contribution to the Maoist people's war with a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
He also released a book on the topic 'Why and What about Constitution's Amendment?'
Prime Minister Oli expressed his belief that the released book will facilitate discussions and debates on constitutional amendments.
Likewise, former Deputy Prime Minister and CPN (Maosit Centre) leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha expressed his belief that the online media would be run in a strong and effective manner in coming days.
Ratopati's founder Om Sharma pledged to remain active for realizing national aspiration through media practice.(RSS)
