People should be informed about province assembly activities

Jhapa, June 7: The Speaker of Koshi Province Assembly, Ambar Bahadur Bista, has said that people should be well informed about the province assembly's activities.     

Inaugurating a training programme on 'digital media and use of information on parliamentary reporting' in Birtamod today, Speaker Bista said that people were still uninformed about the province assembly and its relevance and importance.     

The training programme is run by the Koshi Province Committee of Parliamentary Journalist Forum with support from the Koshi Province Assembly Secretariat.     

"Mediapersons have greater role to provide right information about our activities. Support from the mediapersons is inevitable to inform the mass people about the necessity and the performances made for the cause of the people from the province assembly," he added.     

Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party in Koshi Province Gopal Tamang said the media too should provide constructive feedback to the province assembly members to make the province assembly members' legislative role more effective.     

On the occasion, province assembly members Nimsari Rajbansi, Lakhi Kumari Ganesh, Gopal Bishwakarma, Chhabilal Chudal and Radhakrishna Khanal, and several journalists put forth their views. (RSS)
