NCC President Agrawal urges Lanka private sector to invest in Nepal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 26: President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal has urged Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal. 

During his visit to Sri Lanka, President Agrawal urged the private sector there to invest in the hydropower, information technology and tourism sectors in Nepal.

During the Nepal-Sri Lanka Trade and Business Conference organised by the Nepali Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka, President Agrawal emphasised that Nepal is an excellent destination for investment with great prospects and secure returns. 

According to a press statement of the NCC, he held discussion with the officials of National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lank.

On the occasion, president Agrawal said that an environment has been created in Nepal to ensure returns on investment and that the current economic policy system adopted by the government has increased the enthusiasm of foreign investors.

Informing Sri Lankan businessmen about the investment sectors in Nepal, he emphasised the need for cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries for joint investment and trade facilitation, including a concrete strategic plan. 

He said that bilateral visits should be continued to strengthen relations between the entrepreneurs of both countries and support for trade and investment facilitation.

During the meeting, they discussed in detail the business opportunities between the two countries, investment challenges, policy and legal framework, said the NCC. 

President Agrawal said that Sri Lankan private sector is positive for investment in Nepal.
