South Asia Regional Youth Workshop kicks off

Kathmandu, May 22: The South Asia Regional Youth Workshop-2025 has kicked off here today. Youths from four countries are attending the three-day regional workshop.     

A total of 26 young people aged from 16 to 25 from Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Tajikistan are attending the event.     

Chirring Dolma Lama, Deputy-Coordinator of the Workshop, said the programme has been organized with the aim of empowering the new generation by imparting the importance of green enterprises for a sustainable future.     

"The workshop has provided a platform for youth to express their demands to international civil society and government representatives, promoting the youth network in South Asia. This workshop will facilitate the exchange of information about the state of green enterprises," Lama said.     

Deputy Coordinator Lama stated that the workshop was organized under the slogan - 'Green Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment: An Initiative for a Better Future.'     

She provided information regarding discussions on climate resilience, youth skill development, and policy advocacy, along with presentations on various topics, interactive sessions, and discussions with policymakers and experts.     

Twelve youth from Nepal, eight from India, four from Pakistan, and two from Tajikistan are attending the workshop organized in collaboration with Children and Women Social Service and Human Rights (CIVIS) and Terre des Hommes (TDH), Germany will conclude on Saturday.(RSS)
