BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, May 19: The third edition of the ‘Sansar National Star Music Video’ organised by Sansar Creation Nepal concluded at the Nepal Academy Hall, Kathmandu, on Saturday.
Bagmati Province’s Minister for Labour, Employment and Transport, Prem Maharjan, attended the event as Chief Guest and writer and director Prakash Sayami as the special guest.
This year, the ‘Nepal Bhasa Music Video Awards’ were distributed across 41 categories, with a total of 172 awards.
On the occasion, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ was presented to veteran singer and composer Ratna Behoshi for his continuous contributions to the field of music. He was honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, along with a trophy and a certificate.
In addition, Manoj Ratna Shahi, a photojournalist from ‘Gorkhapatra Online’, won the award for Best Editor for his work on the music video titled ‘Naap Chwane Madusa.’
Furthermore, Swatantra Kumar Maharjan, an organiser, informed that the award event is being submitted to the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ as the longest-running award event with the highest number of award categories in a single programme. He said that the award ceremony spanned over five months and was conducted in various phases, including the entrance phase, participants recognition phase, nomination phase, top 10 phase and the final event.
He also said that they had been in discussions with representatives of the Guiness Book of World Records and the response had been positive.
