Education Ministry requests operation of community schools during holidays

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 15: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has requested community schools to continue teaching and learning during the winter or summer vacations, at the convenience of the school.

In a press release issued by the ministry, it is stated that this request has been made because the Kathmandu-centered protest of teachers and employees conducted in March 2025 has affected the admission and teaching of students in community schools.

The ministry has stated that it has requested all community schools to make the necessary arrangements based on the commitment made by the Nepal Teachers' Association.

"This request has been made citing that it is desirable to improve the administrative arrangements of the school by managing issues such as absenteeism in schools caused due to the participation of teachers and employees in professional protest and keeping the morale of teachers high," reads the statement.
