Two women die of electric shock in Morang

By Hari Prasad Koirala, Urlabari, May 14: Two women who dancing and singing at a wedding died of electric shock at 8 PM in Morang on Tuesday.

Surya Devi Gangai, aged 73, wife of Satarulal Gangai, and Ramu Devi Gangai, aged 70, wife of Jatarulal Gangai, died of electric shock while singing and dancing at the wedding of Neeraj Kumar Singh, son of Mangal Lal Singh of Mirchadangi, Ratuwamai Municipality-3, Morang.

According to the ward chair of Ratuwamai-3, Devi Lal Tajpuriya, the tent was tied to a green bamboo pole. And when the green bamboo fell on the 11,000 kV high tension line during a strong wind at night, both septuagenarians died by electrocution.

Radha Kumari Singh, aged 30, of the same place, was injured by an electric shock. She was treated at Jhurkia Nagar Hospital and sent home, said Ward Chairperson Tajpuria.

The Area Police Office, Sijuwa, has said that the body of the deceased has been sent to Rangeli Hospital for postmortem. The body will be handed over to the relatives on Wednesday after the postmortem.
