By Rajan Rawat, Humla, May 14: The Bokche Gowda road in the Humla section of the Karnali Corridor has been resumed from Tuesday.
The road has been resumed after halting military construction work to transport development materials for three rural municipalities in Upper Humla and the convenience of travelers.
Chief District Officer of Bajhang District Narayan Pandeya said that the road upgrading work in Bokche Gowda has been stopped until June 13, and transport services have been resumed.
He said that, the road has been opened for the import of development materials, transportation of goods of traders, and for the convenience of passengers going to Surkhet and Nepalgunj since the current fiscal year will be ending soon.
Transportation has resumed on that section. Thirty trucks and Bolero jeeps were allowed to travel towards Kharpunath and Simikot on the first day of resuming traffic in the road section.
The army is working to upgrade the road along the 800-meter rocky cliff in that section.
The army had started work on April 7, while earlier, road construction work had been suspended from April 23 to 26, and transport services resumed.
The army will have to complete the construction of this road and the Belly Bridge on the Karnali River at Dojam in Kharpu by the coming June.
