By Santosh Subedi, Pakhribas, May 12: Eight people have been injured when a Tata Sumo met with an accident at Kusetar on the Tamor Corridor road section in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-3 of Dhankuta.
The accident occurred at around 10 PM on Sunday night when a Tata Sumo (Me 1 Ja 2655), which was en route from Taplejung to Dharan, lost control.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)Om Prakash Khanal, police spokesperson at the District Police Office, Dhankuta, the eight injured have been identified as 45-year-old Namkala Phuyal, 47-year-old Jayeshwor Pokharel, Isu Pangeni, aged 38, Nikita Phuyal, around 22 years old, Sharish Pokharel, around 16 years, 46-year-old Savitri Adhikari, 52-year-old Dipchandra Ghimire, and 45-year-old Nawaraj Phuyal, of Bharatpur-11, Chitwan.
He said that the Tata Sumo veered off some 10 feet down the road.
The injured are undergoing treatment at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS).
