By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has consulted with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in regard to budget formation for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.
Deputy Prime Minister Paudel reached Deuba's residence in Budhanilkantha on Monday morning and discussed the budget, according to the Ministry of Finance.
On the occasion, NC President Deuba suggested adopting frugality in view of the country's economic situation and preparing a budget that makes maximum use of resources.
The Ministry of Finance has intensified the preparation of budget in consultation with many sectors, including political parties, former finance ministers, private sector's umbrella organisations and ministries.
Earlier, Nepali Congress held discussion with the private sector organisations over the budget.
In the meantime, the government presented its policy and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26 on Friday aiming to attain rapid economic growth.
As per the constitutional provision, the government will have to present budget for the next fiscal year 2025/26 at a joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 29.
