By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 26: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has viewed that teachers should be respected and that their genuine demands should as well be addressed.
The former Prime Minister said so while addressing an oath taking and position hand over programme of the newly elected central executive committee of the Press Center Nepal (PCN) today.
“When I was the PM for the third time, teachers did hold demonstration as they are doing now. We formulated the bill to address their demands. It has been nearly three weeks that they are protesting in Kathmandu, but the government has not responded to them. This is sheer irresponsibility on the government’s part, a bizarre situation. Teachers’ genuine demands should be addressed immediately,” said Prachanda, the leader of the main opposition party in the parliament.
He blamed that the government was under the influence of the middlemen.
“An unprecedentedly positive situation has been developing in favour of our party during the ongoing Postal Highway Awareness Campaign. We have met about 10 million people during this time,” said the Maoist Chairman.
He pointed that the PCN members should be the voice of the voiceless, write for the oppressed, marginalised, expose corruption and anomalies in the society.
Expressing commitment to move forward PCN, PCN chairperson Kamal Giri vowed that PCN will be further developed into a strong organisation of pro-people journalists.
