Rukum West, Apr. 14: The project selection has begun in Rukum West under the Project Bank advanced by the Karnali Provincial government.
The people's representatives of the district, including the Provincial Assembly Members, have accelerated the project selection process.
It has been decided to propose a project in a meeting of the District-level Project Proposal Selection Recommendation Committee in accordance with the Karnali Provincial Government's Project Proposal and Selection Process Procedure, 2081.
The meeting decided to recommend the budget and projects included for the upcoming fiscal year and send it to the provincial government, said Provincial Assembly Member of Karnali Province Tulasa Malla.
According to her, the projects were recommended after holding separate meetings with various sectoral offices.
In the first meeting, the projects of the sectoral offices under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment, Division Forest Office, Industry and Consumer Interest Protection Office and Division Watershed Management Office, have been selected.
According to Divisional Forest Officer Sher Bahadur Pariyar, it has been decided to recommend 206 projects from the Divisional Forest Office.
He said that it has been decided to propose and send these projects for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26. According to him, 169 projects and plans related to infrastructure and 37 under ongoing programmes have been selected.
According to Ramesh Oli, Chief of the Industry and Consumer Welfare Protection Office, it has been decided to recommend 69 projects from the meeting. Similarly, 109 plans have been proposed and recommended under the Divisional Watershed Management Office for watershed conservation.
Similarly, it has been decided to select and send projects from the Agricultural Development Office and the Animal Hospital and Livestock Service Office under the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives.
Gyanu Kumar Sharma, Animal Health Officer of the Animal Hospital and Livestock Service Office, said that 130 projects and plans for agriculture, 102 for small irrigation and 90 for animal services have been selected.
