Winter session of Koshi Provincial Assembly prorogued

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Biratnagar, Mar. 22: The sixth session of the Koshi Provincial Assembly was prorogued on Thursday. 

According to Koshi Provincial Government Spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Rewati Raman Bhandari, a meeting of the Province’s Council of Ministers on Thursday decided to prorogue the current winter session from Thursday midnight. 

The meeting also decided to approve the Koshi Provincial Public Health Regulations 2024. Additionally, a decision was made to appoint Chandra Bahadur Karki as the Member Secretary of the Management Committee for the troubled cooperative organisations or federations. The meeting also approved a budget of Rs. 12.86 million for the office of the troubled cooperative management committee. 

Minister Bhandari informed that the meeting approved an estimated limit of Rs. 1.5 billion for financial equalisation grants to local levels from the provincial government and Rs. 1.1 billion for revenue sharing. It also approved the distribution of Rs. 15 million for strengthening higher and district courts.

Furthermore, the meeting approved the revised organisational structure and staffing plan for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning and its subordinate offices for Fiscal Year 2024.
