Gorkha, March 16: As many as 525
persons have received varieties of service from a two-day health camp organized
at a local Ghairung health post of Shahid Lakhan rural municipality-6 in the
district.
The Nepali Army and the rural
municipality jointly organized the free health camp where the people were
provided services for dental and skin disease, orthopedics and screening for
cervical cancer, according to Birendra Shrestha, chief of health section at the
rural municipality.
Among those receiving medical
services were 358 women and 167 men. Total 41 women had undergone screening for
cervical cancer. The screening showed that four of the women were at risk of
cancer.
The doctors also began treatment to
the cancer susceptible ones and informed for the follow up treatment.
Similarly, 149 persons received the
treatment for the orthopedic problems, while 90 received for dental problems
and 22 the dermatitis. Even the laboratory service was made available on the
occasion.
Those detected with disease were
provided medicines free of cost. "The service recipients were happy to
have medical services from the specialist doctors at their locality,"
Shrestha shared.
The medicine worth over Rs 300
thousand was distributed to the people. (RSS)
