Birgunj Customs collects Rs 1.9bln revenue in 8 months

 Birgunj (Parsa), March 15: The Customs Office in Birgunj has collected revenue of Rs 1.09 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, falling short of the target of Rs 1.39 billion. 

Customs Chief Administrator Deepak Lamichhane stated that the revenue collection has ranged from Rs 12.15 billion in the month of Saun, the first month (mid-July to mid-August, 2024) of the fiscal year 2081-82 BS to Rs 15.47 billion in the month of Magh (January-February, 2025). 

The Office is hopeful that the revenue collection will improve further in the remaining four months of the fiscal year. 

The highest contributions to the revenue collection have come from the import of petroleum products and motor vehicles. (RSS)
