Tansen (Palpa), March 15: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has clarified that the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) formed a coalition government to save the country from crisis, saying it was an outcome of the then situation.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Palpa chapter here today, he said the coalition government was formed after the development activities, including economic progress were almost nil in the country at that time.
He stated that the Nepali Congress had always been at the forefront to avert the crisis when the country is facing such a situation and clarified that the alliance with the UML had to be formed to save the country from the crisis.
DPM and Nepali Congress leader Singh said the people were expecting results and delivery from the government and the government has to carry out works accordingly. He stressed it was time to speak less and do more work.
On a different context, Deputy Prime Minister Singh clarified that the government was not preparing to provide additional facilities to the ex-VVIPs.
He stressed the need for unity among all political parties to strengthen the federal democratic republican system of governance as there was no point in talking about monarchy despite the increase in the activities of the royalists. (RSS)
