PM Oli calls on NGOs not to depend on external grants

Kathmandu, March 10: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the NGOs to adopt the path of self-reliance instead of depending on external grants.     

Inaugurating the 11th general convention and the National Civil Society Conference 2025 of the NGO Federation of Nepal here on Monday, PM Oli stressed the need to increase production and productivity by utilizing fertile Nepali land even though all the work could not be done alone in the situation of globalization.     

He advised the social organizations to discuss not only failures but also hopes, successes and achievements, and made it clear that no obstacle would be created in the development efforts.     

"We are not in a pitiable condition to have pictures of a foreigner when taking out a procession. We have no time to indulge in undemocratic, anti-system and unconstitutional things. We are on a journey to a prosperous Nepal with the idea of taking one step forward every day,” PM Oli said, referring to the Sunday's programme of pro-monarchy supporters. (RSS)
