Last year, in 2024, the total number of candidates from Mahottari was 9,421, of them 8,821 were from the regular general category.
Since there has not been a significant rise in the number of examinees this year, a total of 32 examination centres from last year have been retained, informed Revika Amatya, Chief of the Education Development and Coordination Unit.
Among the designated centres, Laxmi Chandi Higher Secondary School, Jaleshwar, will accommodate the highest number of students at 457 whereas Shree Higher Secondary School, Sitapur, will accommodate 208 students.
The number of community schools participating in the SEE from Mahottari has increased by five, reaching 107 this year. In total, students from 137 secondary schools, including 20 institutional schools, are participating in SEE this year. Last year, students from only 122 schools participated in SEE.
Earlier, a meeting of the District Examination Coordination Committee, chaired by Chief District Officer Lalbabu Kawadi, had determined the examination centres. However, the appointment of centre heads has not been finalised yet.
As the Holi festival is approaching soon, the committee will assign the centre heads soon after the celebrations, following which the centre heads will deploy assistant centre heads and other examination staff, informed Assistant Chief District Officer Upendra Nyaupane.
He further stated, “Since question papers’ security is a key concern, arrangements such as orientation for centre heads, distribution of answer sheets and other examination materials and deployment of security personnel will be made just two to three days before the exam.”
Amatya, the unit chief, expressed optimism that the examination would be conducted in a fair, disciplined and ethical manner with the support, cooperation and goodwill of all concerned.
