Biratnagar, March 9: The Koshi Province Assembly unanimously passed the 'Bill to Replace the Ordinance for Amending Certain Provincial Acts-2081' on Sunday.
Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Rewati Raman Bhandari, presented the proposal seeking endorsement of the Bill after no amendment proposal was registered and no Province Assembly members participated in the clause-wise discussion.
The proposal was approved unanimously when Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista presented it for the decision.
Earlier in the Special Hour of the Province Assembly meeting, the parliamentarians had voiced their concerns over many contemporary issues.
Parliamentary party leader of major opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre), Indra Bahdur Angbo, accused the provincial government of failing to deliver services to the people effectively.
He also claimed that the coalition government of CPN UML and Nepali Congress had failed miserably to achieve its common objectives such as maintaining political stability, amending constitution and improving country's economic state.
Likewise, UML's parliamentary party's Chief Whip Bidur Kumar Lingthep lamented that the victims of the Sankhuwasabha inferno were left without land ownership certificates till date.
He called on the provincial government to accelerate the issuance of land ownership certificates to all victims at the earliest.
Meanwhile, parliamentarians Meena Shrestha, Radha Krishna Khanal, Geeta Devi Regmi among others raised their voices on pressing issues concerning the province in the zero hour of the meeting.
The Koshi Province Assembly meeting will convene again on March 11 at 2:00 pm. (RSS)
