Surkhet, March 7: A total of 3,841 students graduated from the Midwestern University during its third convocation ceremony held in Birendranagar, Surkhet today.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, also the Chancellor of the University, presented certificates to graduates of various level and faculties in the ceremony held at the University's central office.
According to the University, this year's graduates include 2,189 undergraduates from all faculties, 1,663 postgraduates and 19 completing M Phil (Masters of Philosophy) from management faculty.
Senior professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University in India, Prof Dr Mahendra P Lama, graced the convocation ceremony as the Chief Guest.
On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Dhruba Kumar Gautam informed the gathering about new academic programmes to be introduced by the University in support of the government of Nepal, various national and international universities and organizations.
PM Oli is scheduled to address the Karnali Province Assembly today itself.(RSS)
