By A Staff Reporter,Lalitpur, Mar. 5: The Hidden Treasure celebrated its 30th anniversary with the launch of the first edition of ‘Designer of The Year’ (DOTY) competition during a programme held in Lalitpur on Tuesday.
Organising a press-meet, the organisers informed that the first edition of the competition aims to provide a platform for fashion designers, students, and aspiring amateurs to showcase their creativity and passion for fashion.
The auditions for the competition will take place in four major cities, including Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Biratnagar, and Kathmandu.
A total of 12 to 15 talented designers will be selected based on their sketches and garments presented during the audition round.
The selected designers will then have four to five weeks to prepare their creations under the guidance of experts, they informed.
Each designer will create seven original designs, along with two or three designs specifically for The Hidden Treasure, including a National Costume and an Evening Gown.
A panel of five judges will evaluate the designs and select the winner of the competition.
The winner of the DOTY competition will receive a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 and a high-tech Jack brand sewing machine.
Additionally, the winning National Costume will be worn by the Miss Nepal winner at the international pageants while the Evening Gown and other creations may also be showcased by the winners of Miss Nepal at various national and international events.
Likewise, one lucky model walking the ramp for DOTY will receive a direct entry as a contestant for the Miss Nepal 2025 pageant. The grand finale of the competition will be held in Kathmandu on April 12 .
