Himalaya Airlines to operate Pokhara-Lhasa commercial flight from March 31

Kathmandu, March 4: Himalaya Airlines is to operate the first commercial flights from Pokhara International Airport two years after the operation of the airport. It is going to operate the flight to Lhasa in China from March 31.     

Issuing a press release, Himalaya Airlines informed about the flights to be operated connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Kathmandu. A schedule has been determined in order to operate a flight once a week to connect Pokhara with Lhasa.     

The airline has already acquired flight permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for a flight to Lhasa. According to the Information Officer of CAAN, Gyanendra Bhul, the airline has asked flight permission in order to operate the first 'scheduled flight' in Lhasa.     

 Similarly, Sichuan Airlines of China has made preparations to operate Pokhara-Chengdu commercial flights once a week from March 18. However, flight permission from CAAN has not been received.
