Ward office operation from road demanding blacktopping

Kanchanpur, March 3: Arjun Saud, ward chair of Krishnapur municipality-2, has been providing services of the ward office from road demanding blacktopping.    
The ward chair has been delivering public services by placing a table at the entry point of the road since Sunday to put pressure on the contractors and the Infrastructure Development Office.    
    
It may be noted that the Bunk-Nile-Budar road has not been blacktopped for a long time even after signing the contract.    
    
According to him, the service will be provided by staying on the road until blacktopping is ensured. "There has been no progress in blacktopping work".    
He said that people had to put up black banners on the road and take to the streets for blacktopping to pile public pressure.    
    
Ramnath, a local, said that it has been difficult to walk on the dusty road. Yogendra Adhikari, chief of the Infrastructure Development Office, Kanchanpur, said that the contractors have been assigned for blacktopping the road.    
     
"The contractors will not do the work as soon as possible," he said, adding, "We have written a letter to start the work as soon as possible and assured that the work will start within a week."   (RSS)
